Aeid's Wedding

An update on my last 2 Saturdays... we spent time attending Aied's aka Mohd Syahid's wedding. This 28yr old close cousin of mine got hitched to a beautiful girl of myanmari parentage. Faridah is her name, aged 26... both medical practitioners, just graduated from RCMP.

Anyway, it was a great wedding. the bride's side did theirs at Palace of the Golden Horses while the groom was at Nilai Springs Golf Resort... the one at Palace was at night and done in total Myanmar custom... traditional suit and bow tie for the groom, while the bride wore a nice shimmery, gold dress with a long trail... the odd thing was that it was customary for the Myanmar people to get the gust of honor to out the ring for the groom and bride during the wedding... so who was the guest of honor kalau tidak, Tun Mahathir and wife... so my cuz nie dapatlah Tun himself to pakaikan the ring on his finger while Tun Hasmah did it for the bride... pelik kan? not entirely romantic but never mind... something new to learn about other cultures eh.? another weird thing was the food presentation...the lights were dimmed and out came a gigantic white styrofoam clam...the waiters opened the clam to present to the high table people eg bride & groom, Tun Mahathir etc etc.... That was really funny too :D hehe.

Me and hidayah (Aeid's sister, 24 yrs of age and getting married end of this year)

dina takde..kena tinggal kat rumah gramma with aunty fida and fifi.

On the bertandang side a week later, the newlyweds wore dark magenta almost purplish colour theme... nice songket bunga tabur for the bride too!

Dina obvioulsy distracted by the bling bling worn by the groom :)

Dina in her dress and Adidas... funky dudette!

Us and granpa (again dina got distracted here... :)

The Secret Story #1

I was introduced to The Secret by my husband in early 2008
it was THE BEST EVER gift given to me....

WHY?

It has changed my life.

I will start posting up things, happenings, that i've attracted into and received in my life from the first time i knew about The Secret... be it work-related...personal ..etc...
i'd like to document them only now because i have had things come my way ever since... things that have manifested... just thru thinking
and i'd like to share them here...

for those of you who have been touched by The Secret, your life will change forever... and to the better.

So here goes:

STORY #1:

I had read the Secret and wanted to practise it... to see how real it could be. You see, there was a bed of grass beside the car porch at my home. i was perturbed by the fact that the grass had grown so tall and whenever i parked inside, i faced the 'lalang' as i opened my car door to get down... time passed and i told PP to mow it ever so often that he'd forgotten it always. one day, i wished... unconciously, that my lalangs would be mowed by someone.... NOT my hubby, nor me.... but in my mind at the time, i saw a picture of the pekerja bandaran, you know those people who you see mowing the grass on roadsides by the municipal. i'd only wished and imagined this once and then left it at there.

(The Secret Tip: to believe as if you have received)
What i did for the next 4 weeks was to ignore the lalangs whenever i alighted my car as arrived in my car porch...i ignored and i'd imagined that the grass was already mowed... i complained no more and i was happy that my 'semak' had gone {wink}

On one fine Sunday, i'd stayed at home to work...which i rarely did. But i was alone at home... Dina was as Tok Mummy's and PP had a meeting outside. i was downstairs, working on my computer, when i suddenly heard a whirring sound. it came from outside.
by instinct, i quickly ran towards the front door and opened it...

I JUST COULDNT BELIEVE MY EYES!

standing just outside my gate was the service worker with his mower!
He was mowing the grass outside the gate of my house.

(The Secret Tip: Work on instinct)
I quickly approached the guy and waved at him. He shut his mower down and looked at me.
I said "5 rigggit" and showed him my over-grown patch of 'jungle' near my porch.
He said, "10 ringgit". I said "DONE!".

He completed his job for a good 10 minutes. I paid him his tenner and later swept the porch clean. I went inside and spent half an hour looking outside at my now-clean shaven grass patch.
I shook my head in utter disbelief cos i was reeling with excitement

RING! RING!
"Papa, guess what happened?"
"What?"
"It worked."
"What worked?"
"I wished for someone to mow our lawn and he came."
{LAUGHTER!}

"Yes, sayang...it works. You only gotta wish and believe."

This was my first test of THE SECRET. You can't believe what happened after this...

i kept on wishing...

and...

everything kept on coming and coming...

true.

Enjoy the moment of NOW.

ENJOY THE MOMENT!
By Lionel Ketchian

A bird is singing, the sky is blue, the temperature is perfect, and the trees are covered in green. Is there a lesson to be learned from that? Well, it's just life. Right now I happen to be enjoying the moment.

In order to enjoy the moment you actually have to appreciate it. To appreciate the moment you have to quiet down and silently go within yourself. Nature cannot be beautiful unless you appreciate it. Beauty in any form requires appreciation in order to be beautiful, and appreciation is a quality found within you.

To connect with this moment is a deep union. It requires you to witness this moment outside of time. Time has nothing to do with enjoying this moment. Einstein said, time is relative. A moment with your hand on a hot stove in the kitchen is a lot longer than a moment kissing your true love in the kitchen.

As I sit and write this article outdoors I am expressing the feeling of connecting to nature in this moment. This is not entertainment. With entertainment someone is doing something for you. To fully relax is to completely go into this moment. Nothing to do, nothing to think about. Just merge with the moment. It is interesting that when you lose yourself like this you actually find yourself. In this enjoyment you find yourself by abandoning yourself.

Enjoying the moment is absorbing. Enjoyment is accomplished by relaxing into the moment. You can't fast forward nature. You can't stop or freeze frame moments you enjoy. While in nature you're included, you became part of it all.

It is interesting when we reflect on Ralph Waldo Emerson's words, "This time, like all times, is a very good one, if we but know what to do with it." Only when you reflect back on such times as you allow yourself this freedom do you realize that you are peaceful and happy, This happens because enjoying something means you don't need it. You already have it. You get it without grasping for it. If you can develop ways to enjoy every moment of your life, you would not only master your emotions, but also be the master of your fate.

The wind just blew over the page I was writing on. So I went with it for it was time for me to write this line on a new page, and not to curse the wind for doing what it did. It is when we can incorporate "whatever happens," to us into our enjoyment of the moment that we have control of things in our life. It really is not about what happens, but how we handle what happens that immediately affects what happens to us. Enjoyment may be a lost art.

Let's bring it back into our lives, and practice it regularly. Life is short! You can either enjoy or regret. Select enjoy, and you will experience great joy in this moment.

Bubble Baby

Bath bubble, bath bubble,
Floating or in the air,
i hope its not a trouble,
to pile some on my hair

I wish that I was tiny;
I wish that I was small,
So that i could fit inside
That shiny little ball.

Dina's 'celebrity' paeditrician...

News this week.
Last Monday we went to see Dr Musa for Dina's 18 month jab. Supposedly pegi 2nd jab for pneumacoccal but doc said to give her this next month... So Dina's jab is a mix of 4 - tetanus, something, something and something....hehe tak ingat doc kata apa...yg paham tetanus jer.. :D

Anyways, biler masuk opis doc tu, mulalah Dina cwy cwy....shian anak mama.. but she was still brave enough to face it...so when we wanted to leave the room, sempatlah i ni dgn selambanya menanya kat doc nie... "er...so dr musa, are you Erra Fazira's paedatrician?" to which he smiled and then replied "She prefers is quiet". SO paham2 je lah.... the celebs probably minta Doc Musa to not kepoh2 just becos they are seeing him as their baby girl's paed.

SO i nie still nak korek...tanyalah the desk nurse kat luar opis Doc and tanya lagi "Erra Fazira ambik Dr Musa as pead dia ye?"...Cik adik tu pon jawab dan terus bercerita " a ah. hari tu, dia dtg for 1st month check up, macam tergesa2 nak balik lepas tu. lepas diaorg balik je, semua mak bapa yg menunggu terus tanya, 'biler Erra Fazira's next appointment?' "...hehehe.. kelakar kan.. but the nurse said, they are not allowed to disclose details due to privacy sake. She then told me that Doc Musa is a fav among artists and celebs...local ones like Kak Engku aka Rj Azura, Misha Omar and so on.

Oh well...thank god that we do not have crazy papparazzis here to tail celebs everywhere... not forgetting how Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes hid baby Suri away from the public eye for some time and how the paparazzi tried hard to get them. .. we malaysian dont really run after local celebs cos we are of diff culture...we care for their privacy i suppose. ... and maybe we dont go hoo haa over them there and then, cos we dont want them to be 'over-perasan'??? M A Y B E......

that day, Wardina also came in to see the same paed. but no one was hovering over her.... except me! hahahaahah.... caya tak, i actually purposely told my husband to see whose taller as i passed behind the celeb.....LOLOLOL! crazy mamma...papa said. bukan aper....sajer jee.... Papa said i was almost the same height but smaller framed than her... woo hooo.! DO i CARE?....No not really..... saja suka2 masa tu.... looking back.... i dont do this kinda thing...maybe one of my crazy streak came out! :P ...........but still within control ok! kikikih...

..................................

MP: Err...so nurse, biler Erra punye next visit?
N: Tak boleh bagitau kak. P&C.
MP: Alah, bukan nak apa pon. Nak tgk dari dekat jer. Tak penah tgk lah katakan..
N: (smiles sambil menggeleng kepala)
MP: LOL!!! oklah ok lah... (exit)

Hello? MP? get the message or NOT?!
(better luck next time, huh? :P)

Simple Suppers

i LOVE to cook and bake.... ever since i got my hands on my mom's cake recipe book and then i was hooked FOREVER... and that was way back in my teens...

i'm vowing to myself to try at least 2 new recipes in a month... eventho i have a hectic work schedule and come home every day at 7pm... :(

so my recipes will only be like 'supper recipes' and i recently got this recipe book called 'great supper recipes' from MPH which has lots of nice, yummy but light meals (which i like!) to make for dinner... (well, to tell you d' truth, i sometimes just buy us simple burgers at the nearby friendly burger stall in my housing area..hehe...nie sebab tak sempat masak punya pasal la)

RECIPE 1: My Hubby's Favourite Tuna Olio Pasta

Ingredients:
(For 4 servings)
Spaghetti (boiled with a bit of cooking oil till al dente )
Tuna chunks in Olive oil (Ayam Brand - one can is enough)
Olive oil (must be generous with this)
3 cloves of garlic
Fresh Italian Parsley ( chopped)
Fresh button mushroom
Broccoli
Carrots
2 tablespoon of butter

Method:
Melt the butter in a saucepan and saute the vegetables till almost tender. Stir in chopped parsely for 1 minute and then turn off flame. pour sauted veges in a mixing bowl, add spaghetti and tuna chunks. stir until all mixed well, add olive oil if appears too dry. season to taste with black pepper and a pinch of salt (cos tuna is salty already). i like to eat this with cili api potong :)

RECIPE 2: Sausage and Cheese Casserole

(from allrecipes.com but modified to my taste)

Ingredients:
Sausages (20 mini-sized sausages)
Hashbrowns (4 thick pieces - just buy from supermarket)
3 tablespoon butter, melted
250 g mild Cheddar cheese, shredded
2 big onions, shredded
10 large-sized eggs

Method:
Preheat oven to 190 degrees C. Lightly grease a casserole dish. Place sausage in a large, deep pan over stove. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Add onions and saute till aromatic. Drain and set aside. In the prepared baking dish, place hashbrown at the bottom and sides of the casserole dish with the melted butter spread out evenly. In a bowl, mix the sausage and onions mix, Cheddar cheese, and eggs. Season well with black pepper. Pour over the potato mixture. Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the casserole comes out clean. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Eat together with chilli sauce for the extra kick.

YUMMYLICIOUS!

13. There's always time for one more baby hug and kiss in the morning, even if it means i'll be bit late to work that day... so kena la bangun pagi2 skit so that i have more extra time.

14. Taking time-off from Dina is a luxury, even if it means a quick 2-hour shut eye or a trip to the hairdresser's (luxury yes, but i do LOVE spending time with my babies - Dina and PP la kan.).

and last but not least...

15. Topic of the day is Dina. We talk about Dina, Dina and Dina every day.... till we get another one... soon!
