Anyways, here are DINA's milestones... at 18 month old in March.
- Walks fast, walks up stairs with one hand held, and knows how to kick a ball - spends time patiently watching Teletubbies on the tube .
- Understands simple direction - Just tell her to go and pick up some toy and pass it back to you and she can do it. say 'PLEASE' first and dont forget to say 'THANK YOU'. she does this effortlessly now... i say - "Dina, go and wash your face, wash your body, and then wipe your body, then you wear your baju and then you eat and then you go to sleep".... she will verbally repeat these words with all the body language... and say it again and again.. she even bercerita to Nor about this.
- Points to all body parts correctly - tested her by pointing to her nose but saying it was her mouth...and she will laugh and laugh...she shakes her head when i get it 'wrong'.PANDAI anak mama...
- Shows affection by kissing parents... always with an audible 'SMACK' on the lips...and verbally let outs the word - 'Mm-wahh'.
- Feeds herself, drinks from a cup adequately and sometimes uses a spoon (tumpah2 still happens lah...or rather sepah2 kan food at times..hehe).
- Imitates a crayon stroke on paper... Dina scribbles a lot on paper using a that little drawing board that has a pen attacched to it on a string, right...and when you want to erase the drawings, you just slide the eraser device from left to right which is at thebottom of the square board... MAGIC Blackboard is the name i think! :P
- Holds and "loves" a doll or stuffed animal; may use a household-type toy (for example, a toy telephone) appropriately.She can play on her own now... but still with supervision.
- Will sit for a short time and look at pictures in a book. Turns single pages in her ABC books or magazine. she READs on her own now too! but loves it most whenever we read with her (and PP makes all sorts of funny and weird voices for the characters...hehe..love it when you do this, PP!)
- Can say 10 or more words when asked. she talks a lot now... and soaks up words and freuently immitates ....and almost immediately. so watch your mouth, people! :))
- Understands and is able to point to and identify common objects - she points to the huge billboards whenver she sees one and says 'bii-bodd' and also puts her fingers to her mouth and says 'SHHH!' when she sees somebody is sleeping...hehe..cute.
- Is able to take off some clothing items, such as gloves, hats, and socks - she knows how it when i say 'left hand in' (into the sleeve) and then 'right hand in' ..same thing... she knows her left and right... well sometimes.. :)
- Begins to feel a sense of ownership, remembers people and objects that are in the past - once she woke up in the middle of the night and recited all the names of her cousins and uncles and aunties and grandparents!... and then went back to sleep!...LOL... this is so common that i dont really get a shock of my life now.. especially when i thought she was talkign in her sleep but later realized that she was quite wide awake!
ALL in her 18 months of age in March...she is 72 cm tall and i think about 10-12 kg in weight... cant believe how fast she's grown... SIGH...anak mama sowang nie.....growing up too fast lah.
