Seeing Paed and ENT specialist

.... Today i had to go on E.L....



... had to do some check ups for Dina and her suspected sleep apnea at Dr Musa's clinic...


... our turn was no. 12... tho we arrived at 9am...


... no 12 meant our turn will eventually be around noon.



... so we decided have breakfast at restoren ismail at TTDI and then went home again so dina could take her nap



... by 11.30am, we were heading towards the hospital again



... at Doc Musa's, i showed him the video recording of Dina sleeping



... he was silent in the beginning



... he said it's not uncommon for toddlers to have sleep apnea... but at at this age, (Dina was 1 month away to her second birthday) , it would be too early to have surgery....

... well... at least she gained 5 kg... Dina is almost 10kg in weight... and to Dr Musa's delight, Dina opened her mouth when he told her to, in order to check her tonsils ( 'clever girl,' Dr Musa says).


...and Dina has 18 teeth altogether... so Doc knew she was eating plenty and healthy


... then Doc asked us to do an Xray of dina's throat... so we went to the xray dept... waited till 1pm...


... and he referred us immediately to ENT specialist that evening at 2.45pm




.... said that DIna's adenoids was a bit large but not too large.



... we had our lunch at home and then went back to the hospital.... only to find that the slot has been shifted...


to tomorrow morning... at 10.45am...



.... another E.L ???


... family comes first.

Most kids will snore at some point in their lives — usually due to a stuffy nose from allergies or a head cold. But if your child snores every night and seems to have difficulty breathing, he may suffer from obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS), a partial or complete blockage of the airway that causes him to literally stop breathing for seconds, waking him throughout the night.

As frightening as that sounds, it’s not that uncommon. Experts say that one to three percent of children between the ages of two and six may experience it. Kids with parents who are chronic snorers or who have sleep apnea are more likely to suffer from OSAS; another common cause of the condition is enlarged tonsils and adenoids. Some kids have mild cases of sleep apnea — waking only now and then, and not every night — and typically grow out of it. But chronic OSAS causes kids to wake dozens of times a night as they gasp for oxygen, depriving them of the vital sleep they need. If left untreated, such disturbed sleep can affect everything from brain development to behavioral issues. That’s why it’s vital to have OSAS treated quickly and effectively.
